We are excited to announce the launch of our new girls’ tennis sessions starting on Monday 13 October, offering a fun and inclusive way for girls to get active, build confidence, and learn new skills on the court.
The sessions are split into two age groups to ensure age-appropriate coaching and development:
🕔 5pm–6pm – Rising stars – Girls aged 10 and under
🕕 6pm–7pm – Wild roses – Girls aged 11 and over
The sessions are designed to help girls of all abilities enjoy tennis, make new friends, and grow their confidence through sport.
A free trial is available, giving them the chance to try out the sessions before committing. Spaces are limited, so early booking is encouraged.

A rare opportunity to be coached by former Davis Cup player Danny Sapsford and his team from Bright Ideas for Tennis
Come along, improve your skills and learn the finer points of the game from the professionals.
Session Times: Cost
1.00pm – 1:45pm Mini (5 – 10 year olds) £5.00
1:45pm- 2:30pm Teenagers £5.00
2:30pm – 3:30pm Social Adult Players £10.00
3:30pm – 4:30pm Adult Team Players £10.00
Entry into any of the sessions gives one free entry into the fastest serve competition.
4:30pm – 5pm Fastest Serve Competition £3.00 for 5 serves
5pm – 5:30pm Exhibition Match – watch the pros play.
5:30pm – 6pm Championship Tie Breakers
Participants 16+ will be entered into a draw for the chance to play in the tie breakers with the pros.
Refreshments available throughout the afternoon (cash only).

Everyone is welcome – young and old, beginners and experienced players. Come along and meet our coaching team and some of our members. Racquets and balls will be provided so that everyone can have a hit.
Two of our top junior players reached the Colchester District Finals Day held at Frinton-on-Sea Lawn Tennis Club on 9th September.
Razvan Bulancea played a 3 set match on the grass and coming out of the blocks all guns blazing winning the first set but in the intense heat was unable to maintain his lead and lost by 2 sets to 1.
Millie Davidsen battled hard in a very close match, losing the first set 5-7 but taking the next two sets 7-5, 7-5 for a well deserved victory.
Great tennis from both players – well done!
With 10 Braintree Junior teams entered into the Halstead and District Junior League this season there are great opportunities for our budding tennis players to practice in competitive and fun match play.
The league has gotten off to a great start this season with lots of players winning matches and most importantly gaining lots of match experience that is invaluable to their improvement.
If you haven’t been able to get involved in any matches yet this season but are keen to get playing, our Junior Cup Championships being held over the May Bank Holiday Weekend (27th – 29th) present a great opportunity to play some informal matches in an environment they’re comfortable in. There is also the opportunity to play some individual LTA competitions if you are looking to take your game even further! Our very own Amelia Kizelbach has been playing lots of individual comps that have taken her to top 5 in the county and to the National Championships in 2022!
